Carey Heatherly was the first University Archivist when he joined the University of Montevallo's faculty in 2007. In this role, he has established collections policies for the archives, fostered donor relationships, and developed collections and outreach programs for the university. As associate professor, he has incorporated his work into teaching a variety of archives courses, and he has authored several works of history. He earned his bachelor's degree in history from Samford University, and a Master's of Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama.
