Sam is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Arizona with Dr. Jamie Lee. From 2014-2020, she worked as Collections Archivist (Associate Professor) for the University Libraries at Virginia Tech. She served as department lead for the
International Archives of Women in Architecture and contributed to documenting traditionally marginalized communities in the New River Valley. She has served with many governance groups across SAA, including the Committee on Public Policy (incoming chair, 2020-2021), the Design Records Section (former co-chair), and the Students and New Archivists Section (former chair and student blog editor).
