John Fleckner is an SAA Fellow and Past President. He retired from full-time work as Chair of the Archives Center, National Museum of American History, in 2007. He teaches an introduction to archives in the George Washington University--Smithsonian Institution collaboration in Museum Studies. He is chair of the editorial board of Archival Issues: Journal of the Midwest Archives Conference. His recent article, "F. Gerald Ham: Jeremiah to the Profession" appeared in American Archivist in 2014.
